I am getting an error which states “Cannot edit. Effective date is for a prior period” when attempting to amend a staff member’s staff rates, how do I rectify this?

Background:

The following conditions need to be taken into consideration when attempting to amend a staff rate.

Firm Settings Dates :

The effective date cannot be earlier than the period start date. 

Resolution:

The staff rate has been created for the financial year, in order to use a new staff rate, a new staff rate will have to be created. Follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Cloud drop down and select People
  User-added image
  1. Select the relevant client and click on Rates
  User-added image
  1. Click on New
  User-added image
 
  1. Specify the effective date and the rate.
  2. Lastly click on Save
