What is the importance of Year End Close (YEC) rollover?

In CaseWare Time, it is essential that a year-end close is performed at the end of your financial year. During the process, billed Work-In-Progress (WIP) and account receivable data that are not outstanding for the new year will be purged.
When a year-end close is processed, (e.g purging inactive clients and staff), CaseWare Time cleans up the extra information that would otherwise cause your file to become very large and sluggish over the course of a few years.
 

What assistance can CaseWare Africa Consulting Services provide?

  • 1-hour FREE needs assessment
  • Creating a plan based on the information gained from the needs assessment, with specific goals in mind
    • The plan will include training objectives, tasks and checklist with timelines associated
    • The plan will help you manage milestones and achieve your goals
    • Monitoring and tracking if the plan was delivered according to the desired outcome by implementing specific control measures
  • Training and upskilling your staff on topic and procedures listed from the assessment
 

What options are available?

  • Either onsite and/or remotely
  • There are currently two options for this offering that you can choose from, the details of the options are noted below.
 

Option 1: Assistance with year-end close, excluding making clients and staff inactive.

Non Integrated
Cost for integrated clients (excluding client and staff maintenance) : 8 hours
Cost for non-integrated clients (excluding client and staff maintenance) : 4 hours
With this option, you will be required to make your own clients and staff inactive in CaseWare Time, TaxWare and SecWare before CaseWare Africa Consulting performs the YEC Rollover.
With this option, you will be required to reconcile and write off your own work in progress before CaseWare Africa Consulting performs the YEC Rollover.

Services performed by CaseWare Africa Consulting:
  • Backups in CaseWare Time, TaxWare and SecWare
  • Balance checks before and after YEC Rollover
  • Data integrity and quality checks, run client number and staff reports before and after YEC Rollover
  • Fixing CaseWare Time diagnostics.
  • Performing the YEC Rollover on CaseWare Time, TaxWare and SecWare
  • With this option, the client must make their own clients and staff inactive in CaseWare Time before CaseWare Africa performs the YEC Rollover.
With this option, you will be required to reconcile and write off your own work in progress before CaseWare Africa Consulting performs the YEC Rollover.

  • Balance checks before and after YEC Rollover

Option 2 : Assistance with year-end close, including making clients and staff inactive. Estimated on making 50 clients inactive and 10 staff member inactive

  • Balance checks before and after YEC Rollover
  • Data integrity and quality checks, run client number and staff reports before and after YEC Rollover
  • Fixing CaseWare Time diagnostics.
  • Performing the YEC Rollover on CaseWare Time, TaxWare and SecWare

Please note if you would like to upgrade CaseWare Time 2009 to CaseWare Time 2013 while a CaseWare Africa consultant is onsite, it will be an additional 8 hours.
