What do I do when I do not have the proper access rights in Data Store?
Published: 19/08/2016
I am attempting to open the CaseView Financial Statements however I receive a message stating that I do not have the proper access rights. How can I resolve this issue?
Answer:
1.) Only users assigned to a group with the rights to open CaseView documents will be able to open CaseView documents. These rights can only be assigned to the group by the Data Store Administrator
2.) Open Caseware Working Papers | Click on ‘Protection Setup’
3.) Only the the Adminstrator will have the rights to log in to the data store and assign global rights to users and groups connected to the data store
4.) Once logged into the ‘Global Users and Groups’ Protection Setup, right-click on the the group the user is assigned to
5.) A ‘Group Profile’ dialogue will appear. Select the ‘Rights’ Tab
6.) Under Category ensure that the ‘Docments’ option is selected
7.) Tick the ‘Open document without being assigned to document’, then click OK
8.) Once the group has been assigned the rights to open CaseView documents. The user assigned to the group will now be able to open CaseView documents
