How do I capture amounts on Tax Accounts?

  Answer:

Tax Accounts

  • Tax accounts are only for internal usage, there is no communication between the Tax Practitioner and SARS through TaxWare about this. 
  • You may, however generate letters that you may send to SARS for payment schemes.
  • You cannot see the Tax liability if Provisional tax returns are not Authorized/Approved or if Assessments have not been created.
  • You cannot Process or View Tax accounts in bulk for all taxpayers, you need to do it individually for all taxpayers.
  • There’s two types of accounts you can view:
    1. Provisional Account: which is for all approved Provisional returns prepared for that taxpayer
    2. Assessed Account: which is for all Assessments that are created.
 

To view Tax Accounts, expand Tax Account as shown below:

To mark as paid/to record a payment, do the following:

Click on the box next under the Paid column as shown below and fill in the payment screen accordingly
  • Click PAID | Enter the amount paid as well as any interest and penalties if necessary
  • Give it a Journal for maintaining record and receipt date | click OK
