How to assign additional mapping numbers

1. Go to Account | Assign mappings to access the Assign Mapping numbers screen.

2. Navigate to the area in the mapping number structure (pictured in the right hand side of the picture below) in which you want to create the new mapping number. In this example we will demonstrate how to create a new mapping number for a loan to shareholder account (i.e Loan to/from shareholder 11).



3. Right-click from the mapping number that will be preceding the new number. And select to create a new mapping number.



You right-click from Shareholder 10 to ensure the following:

• Mapping number increments and follows on from numbers above
• The new mapping number inherits the properties of Shareholder 10.

 
4. Complete the properties by filling in the name of the mapping number. Click on OK to save and close the dialogue.

 

5. Make sure to create a current and non-current mapping number for an asset/liability that can have a current and non-current portion.

6. After creating the mapping number, go to Engagement | Mapping to add tags to your new mapping number. The tagging will ensure that the mapping number is displayed when that filter is applied. You can tag the mapping number for more than just one entity type. For example if the Shareholder 11 mapping number has been tagged with “Body Corporate”, it will always appear in the list of mapping numbers available to be mapped for when the filter for “Body Corporate” is applied on the Assign Mapping Numbers screen.



7. Adding the Company tag to Shareholder 11 above (just like the other mapping numbers for Shareholder loans), will ensure that when assigning mapping numbers and applying an entity tag filter like below; Shareholder 11 will be amongst those mapping numbers.
