Data Store | How to Export and Import users in Data Store when moving servers

Using your old server, open your Caseware Data Store Administration Tool:

  1. Click on Maintenance | Export (This will export the users and groups database to the specified location)
  2. The Export Users and Groups dialogue box will appear
  3. Select Browse to navigate to the location you would like to export this file to
  4. Click on OK

On the New server, open your Caseware Data Store Administration Tool:

  1. Click on Maintenance | Import (This will import the users and groups databases from the specified location)
  2. The Import Users and Groups dialogue box will appear
  3. Click on Browse to navigate to the location you would like to import this file from
  4. Under the Select Update Options
    1. Should you wish to merge your users and group database from the old data store with the new data store, select the Merge source users and groups (new user and groups are added)
    2. Should you wish to replace your users and group database, select the Replace with source users and groups
  5. Ensure the tick box Preserve passwords is ticked should you wish to retain the original password from your old server
  6. Then click on OK
