Connector | Resolving Common Connector Errors

The table below contains a list of common Caseware Connector errors and their solutions

You may open a client file in Caseware Working Papers to have Connector retrieve values.
 
#N/AClient file not foundThis workbook is not part of a Caseware Working Papers client file.

The specified settings in Connector options dictate that Connector should not retrieve values from arbitrary client files for workbooks that are outside of a client file folder.
 
#N/AClient file is an incompatible versionThis workbook failed to establish connection to the client file as the version of the client file is different from the installed version of Working Papers.

Please try to load the client file in Working Papers.
 
#N/AClient file compressedConnector is unable to connect to a compressed client file.

Uncompress the client file in Working Papers and this workbook will be able to retrieve values after recalculating the document (Connector Tools, Recalculate).
 
#N/A or #VALUE!Document not savedThis workbook must first be saved to retrieve values from a Working Papers client file.

After saving the workbook will require to be recalculated (Connector Tools, Recalculate).
#N/AWorking Papers COM failureConnector is unable to create a COM connection to the Working Papers client file.

Please reinstall Working Papers
#N/AClient file not foundConnector has not established connection to a client file since being loaded. The Recalculate action will initiate the connection.

#REF!/#VALUE! (not updated for case if #REF!/#VALUE! was saved in the workbook and the workbook was not calculated on activation)Workbook needs to be recalculatedConnector functions were not evaluated when the workbook was loaded.

Use Connector Tools, Recalculate to evaluate all Connector functions.
#VALUE!Invalid parameters specifiedThere is an error in parameters given to a Connector formula.

Please review the parameters for syntax errors.
#VALUE! (from Excel)Excel formula errorExcel is not able to calculate the formula due to some mistakes.

#VALUE! Connector UDF not registered
 
Connector User Defined Functions (UDFs) are not properly registered.

Please check the status of the Caseware Connector UDF status in Excel Options, Add-Ins.

If Connector UDF is disabled you may enable it, however if Connector UDF is not listed you can reinstall Connector. 
#VALUE! Invalid parameters specifiedClient File parameter is not the correct type. The parameter should resolve to a text value specifying the path to the client.
 
#NAME?Excel formula errorExcel is not able to calculate the formula due to some mistakes.

#NAME?Connector UDF not registeredConnector User Defined Functions (UDFs) are not properly registered.

Please check the status of the Caseware Connector UDF status in Excel Options, Add-Ins.
