What is the cause of this error
The error occurs either when you do not have rights to override files on the Caseware folder on the following location or when the cwwp-welcome.exe process is running in the background.
How to resolve error 273
Before you continue with the following steps, please ensure:
- You have contacted your IT administrator or firm champion to inform them of the issue as the following steps may require administrator rights.
Perform the following steps to resolve:
- Firstly cancel the template installation and Right click on the taskbar
- Select Task Manager | Processes tab or select the windows icon and search for the application
- Click on expand button if collapsed More details
- Browse to the cwwp-welcome.exe process
- Right click on the cwwp-welcome.exe process
- Click End task
Run the template installer after the above steps to complete the installation successfully.
Please Note: If the error still occurs, cancel the installation and complete the following further steps (This steps should preferably be performed by an IT personnel):
- Browse to the following location on windows explorer:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Caseware for 64 bit computers
C:\Program Files (x86)\Caseware for32 bit computers
- Right click on the Caseware folder
- Select Properties
- Deselect Read only checkbox
- Click on the Security tab
- Click on the edit button
- Browse the list and select the applicable user
- Select all the permissions tickboxes
- Click Apply | OK
- Click OK and run then template installer again.
