How to attach an edited header to a note?


  Answer:

NOTE: This will process will require access to Design Mode

  • Make a backup of the Caseware Working papers file.
  • Place your cursor on the page break above the section to which you wish to attach the header or footer.  Go to View | Design Mode to activate Design Mode.
  • Go to Document |Modify and click on the drop-down below the icon.
  • Select a header / footer to edit if you want to change an existing header (or footer) or select an unused header (or footer) to create a  new one.
  • Page will split up into two section with the selected header / footer in the top window.
  • To edit the text of the heading; right-click on it and select “Input Cell”. This will allow to change the heading text.

  • Alternatively you can paste a custom header copied from another file or elsewhere in the same file.
  • Go to Document | Modify to close the top window.
  • Proceed to Document |  Attach to attached the header/footer to the desired section.

  • Always use | Attach two headers

  • Select as the first header Header 1 (this is the normal header/footer applied to the entire document) and set second header/footer as the edited or newly created header / footer.
  • Click on F4 to print preview to see the header/footer.
