How to resolve error "Working Papers cannot run because the Data Store is not functioning correctly"

  • Change these settings on the control panel  by navigating to the to the Control Panel | Appearance and Personalization 
  • Then click on Folder options | then select the View tab

  • Deselect the option that states Hide extensions for known file types | Apply | OK

  • Click here to download dll within a zipped folder
  • Unzip this folder and then copy the Regsvrall.bat file within this folder to the following location C:\Program Files (x86)\Caseware
  • Double click on the Regsvrall.bat  to run this file

  • The command prompt will open and register the dll
  • Press any key to continue
  • Once the registration is successful open Caseware

How to resolve error "Working Papers cannot run because the Data Store is not functioning correctly"

You have installed Caseware Working Papers but receive the following error message when opening the program.

This error is usually caused by a dll that is failing to register upon the installation of Caseware. This dll  is needed for Caseware to run properly. 
Please note
: You will require local admin rights when logged in as yourself on your machine to register these dll’s
